Common presentations

Physiotherapy for common aches, pains & injuries

We see a wide range of musculoskeletal concerns. After assessing your presentation, your physiotherapist tailors care to your goals, symptoms, and activity demands.

Back pain and stiffness
Neck pain and posture-related discomfort
Shoulder pain (lifting, sport, sleep aggravation)
Hip and groin pain
Knee pain (running, stairs, sport)
Ankle pain and sprains
Tendon pain (Achilles, patellar, gluteal)
Sports injuries and recurring flare-ups
Workplace and ergonomic-related concerns
Post-surgical rehabilitation (where appropriate)
Note: Not all techniques are suitable for all presentations. Your physiotherapist will discuss options and obtain consent before any hands-on treatment.
Objective Strength & Performance Testing

VALD testing (ForceDecks & Dynamo)

At our clinic, we use VALD performance testing systems, including ForceDecks and Dynamo, to support precise, objective strength assessments. This gives a clear starting point and can also be repeated over time to track change. Objective testing may also help guide return-to-activity planning and support performance goals using real data. First, this provides clear baseline information; then, it can be repeated to track change over time. In addition, objective testing can help guide return-to-activity planning and support performance goals using real data.

Testing is guided by a physiotherapist, and the results are explained in plain language so you know what the numbers mean and how they relate to your plan.

Why VALD testing?

For example, VALD can be used to measure capacity at the start and, subsequently, track progress during rehabilitation.

  • To measure strength and power objectively
  • Track progress throughout rehabilitation
  • To build a clear baseline

Who is it for?

Similarly, testing can suit different goals—whether you’re rebuilding after injury or aiming to return to sport.

  • Injury rehabilitation & Post Surgery
  • Returning to sport
  • Performance and strength development
  • Injury prevention
  • Anyone wanting objective data

ForceDecks testing

In practice, ForceDecks looks at how force is produced and absorbed during weight-bearing tasks such as jumping, landing, and pushing into the ground..

  • Strength – How much force someone can produce (e.g., how strong their legs are when pushing into the ground).
  • Balance – How evenly weight is distributed between left and right sides.
  • Power – How quickly someone can produce force (important for jumping, sprinting, changing direction).
  • Symmetry – Whether one side is weaker or slower than the other (useful after injury).
  • Landing control – How well someone absorbs force when landing from a jump (helps assess injury risk and rehab progress).

Dynamo strength testing

Dynamo, by contrast, focuses on isolated strength measures in a controlled and repeatable way.

  • Muscle strength – Measures how strong a specific muscle or muscle group is (e.g. shoulder, knee, hip).
  • Side-to-side differences – Shows if one side is weaker than the other.
  • Injury recovery progress – Tracks strength improvements over time during rehab.
  • Muscle imbalances – Identifies weak areas that may increase injury risk.
  • Safe return-to-sport decisions – Provides objective data to guide when someone is ready to return to training or competition.

What to expect

Finally, results are reviewed with you on the day; therefore, the next steps can be planned with clearer direction.

  • Guided testing based on your goals
  • Immediate results explained in plain language
  • Repeat at key stages to track progress
